We cannot leave all these important matters to the two governments.

No mention of protecting minorities and ethnic groups rights, no mention of their special needs given they traditionally farm and hunt in a manner peculiar to themselves, no mention of sending development money to these 'lesser' corners to bring decent livelihood and education for the children and care for the elderly and medical services. I wanted to share with you this speech that moved me deeply and has influenced my life since I first read it, during the spring of 1977, in Chile.
